If a Dog Was Your Teacher...

Posted at the Lessons Taught By Life page on Facebook. It echoed so much of my Lessons In Life From Dogs series for the April Challenge in 2014 that I simply had to share.

The secret, not just to happiness but to fulfillment and serenity? Be more dog.

  1. I love this! I am not sure about receiving attention as that makes me uncomfortable..I don't like to be singled out so maybe I have a bit of cat in me. Naahhhh...I'm just a bit of a shy dog:) I love the one about digging for it. That is true and our hands may get dirty a bit but we are rewarded in the end.

  3. I always wondered about people who owned more than one dog. Then I became a multiple animal owner. I don't count the cats I own. Presently, I am catless. We do have cats that venture a distance to visit. A few snarly barn cats and a pampered puss from across the road. Clean-up after people and dogs have me at my limit of ten dogs or my 200 pounds or 100 kilos of dog.

We all get so much from these dogs. They reduce the amount of medication one sister uses. The make me feel good and make me go outside several times a day. Lots of good companionship for my mother. And the loyalty and character assessments they make. My list is endless.

  4. How wise. I was just commenting to my husband how funny it is that even though two of our dogs sleep in our bed, when we wake up in the morning they are so excited to see us. It's like they missed us while we were asleep even though they were pressed up against us all night. That is true love.
