As the blog's header says, dogs fall into my life like accidental blessings. Blessings, because dogs--animals--are the best life coaches. Accidental because I didn't do anything to deserve the lessons they've brought into my life.
But I can share them with you. A kind of pay-it-forward.
To most of you, being animal lovers, these lessons might not be anything new, but I hope you'll share your own experiences and celebrate the joy and goodness these furry four-legged ones bring into our lives.
April 2014:
Lessons In
Life & Happiness
Glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks
we humans have plenty to learn from dogs.
Join the hop, discover new blogs, make new friends, grow your A-to-Z community. And come back on Tuesday for a tips & tricks post on how to make the best of the A-to-Z experience.
Sounds like a unique idea that comes from the heart. Should be fun.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it :) It does come from the heart, in any case, and I hope you'll find it fun, too. Thanks for the visit!
DeleteHow cute. I too have a 4yrs old female Labrador. So looking forward to this.

Labradors rock, Kripali. All dogs have a special light in their souls, but Labradors... I dunno, theirs is just--brighter, I guess :) I'm glad you like the theme, and please feel free to share your insights on the posts; an outside perspective will give depth to this theme :)
DeleteThanks for visiting!
Big dog lover here, and you're right, they do have many lessons to teach us. Looking forward to what you have to share about them.

DeleteDogs are amazing so I cannot wait to hear your tales of dog love. Happy A to Z-ing Laughing at Life 2
ReplyDeleteLadies and gents, one more dog lover for the blog! Shawn, I'm so glad you stopped by, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and insights on the posts.
DeleteA-Z from a dogs point of view - brilliant. Can't wait to hear it. I think my beagle works on just 4 letters - E, S, R, D.
ReplyDeleteEat, Sleep, Run and Destroy.
Haha--love it! I've got a couple of E-S-R-D dogs, too... And combinations thereof :D Thanks for the visit, and I look forward to hearing your own stories during April :)
DeleteI've been dogless for a while and have been on the lookout for a new dog over the last couple of months, I am sure this will only hasten the search - I will try to remember to share my D post with you, I've added you to my reading list and am following you all over the place - I'm sure I'll get to many of yours :)

Ida, I've scheduled a Must-Visit reminder for your blog on D day -- looking forward to it! And I hope you find a dog soon... They truly make it all better :) And, uh, hopefully you'll adopt from a shelter? Yes? Pretty please? They have puppies, too, if that's what you're looking for. There's no personal achievement that can equal the glow a rescue dog brings into our lives.
DeleteI've not owned as many dogs in my life as I have other animals, but animals in general definitely have so many life lessons to teach us!
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Rebekah! All animals bring--can bring, if one knows how to appreciate it--enormous joy into our lives. Thanks for the visit!
DeleteThat. Is. Awesome! What a fantastic theme, Guilie! My border collie sidekick and I will enjoy your posts immensely!

DeleteMy dogs bring so much joy into my life!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that, Rebekah :) I hope you'll pitch in with your experiences in the April posts--nothing like third-party opinions to give depth to a theme like this one :)
DeleteDogs bring us great joy. Look forward to your insights.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzy! And I love your life-as-a-jigsaw-puzzle theme--very original, but also with great potential for insight, too. We should all follow in your footsteps and put together (or try to) the puzzle of our lives so far. Great choice!
DeleteWell, you will be number one on my list to check out every morning as I will have the same theme. I can't wait to see how our stories will interact :) Mine will mostly be funny stories of my experiences with my four-legged family members
ReplyDeleteCarol, that's awesome! Yes, I'll be looking forward to seeing how our posts complement each other. Would be cool if we actually pick the same word for the same day :D Thanks for the visit!
DeleteI'm so going to enjoy this, Guille!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm soooo going to enjoy your visits, Corinne :) Thanks!

ReplyDeleteCarrie~Anne at That Dizzy Chick
Carrie-Anne, I can't imagine life without dogs anymore (note the plural, haha), so I feel for you :) I hope these posts bring some of that dog-joy to you, and I look forward to hearing your insights throughout April. Thanks for the visit!
DeleteOMG, I absolutely love your theme so much! I learn so much about happiness from my dog, and also from the cats I rescued. They are all precious, innocent babies. :)
ReplyDeleteRandom Musings From the KristenHead A to Z Theme Reveal
A cat rescuer! You're in excellent, if very select, company, Kristen--cat rescuers are few and far-between, so double kudos to you :) Indeed, animals in general have so much to teach us. Maybe the world will start listening one day :) Thanks for the visit! (And I *loooove* your theme!)
DeleteSuch lucky dogs to find you!
ReplyDeleteMmmm... Andrea, I think it was *me* that was lucky to find *them* :D Thanks for the visit!
DeleteAaha..... that's so refreshing, Guilie :) Your theme just reminded me of the very soul-stirring 'Chicken Soup for the cat and dog lovers' soul' which I had read long back. So touching, the way animals pass on life's messages to us. Waiting with eagerness ! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG--I can't believe I've never heard of that book! Off to look it up *now* -- thanks! And super-thanks for the visit, and the encouragement. It means the world :)

Such a brilliant idea happiness has no meaning, no source really :-)
ReplyDeleteRicha
Too right, Richa... Happiness comes from a place we can only find when we're not looking. Thanks for the visit!
DeleteI am sure we are going to get some incredible lessons here. Look forward to see how you work them in alphabetically :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right, Shailaja; as much as I've planned, I haven't really started writing, so please, if you have an "in" with the muse of bloggy inspiration, would you please put in a good word for me? ;) Thanks for the visit!
Deletequite a nice theme...some great lessons coming our way.
ReplyDeleteLove this theme! I think animals in general can teach us so much! I really need to learn from cats about the importance of sleep! :P
ReplyDeleteMeant to say from *my* cats... :D

Blogging from Alpha to Zulu in April
I've had all kinds of dogs as well, mostly when I was growing up (not so possible now. ) looking forward to April. My theme is family history--Gail at Making Life An Art
ReplyDeleteVisiting from A/Z Theme Reveal; what a cute idea for a theme for the challenge. I'm kind of partial to corgis myself, so plan to check out your A/Z's as you share lessons in life and happiness as defined by dogs, which interestingly I just told my husband today when we were taking our corgi for a walk, how a simple pleasure like a walk he gets so excited about. Good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeletebetty
Interesting theme! I'm not a dog-lover myself, but many years back, I had a neighbour who was a veterinary doctor, from whom I learnt many interesting things about animals in general and dogs in particular.
ReplyDeleteMy theme, ‘26 Positive Takes on Life’ will generally focus on positive, truly heart-warming, real-life incidents involving ordinary persons whom we can all emulate.
I'm looking forward to reading your blog throughout April. My dog has taught me so much, and I'm sure she has so much more to teach me.
